Valley Health
Business at the Bloom

Valley Health and the Top of Virginia Regional Chamber are proud to partner with the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival® to host Valley Health Business at the Bloom from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, in the Sprint Tent on the campus of Winchester Medical Center.
This dynamic business luncheon presented by Carrabba’s Italian Grill is designed to motivate, entertain, and inspire. Offering a terrific speaker and the opportunity to network with others in the business community, this luncheon is a great way to kick off your Apple Blossom celebration.
Tim League graduated from Rice University in 1992 with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Art/Art History. After a two-year stint at Shell Oil Company in Bakersfield, California, Tim turned his back on the engineering profession and opened up his first movie theater. An “unmitigated financial disaster,” the Tejon Theater closed in 1995; and, he and his wife Karrie loaded a truck with 200 seats, a projector, screen and speakers and headed to Austin, Texas. Here he founded Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, where he remains today as its CEO. Named “the best theater in America” by Entertainment Weekly, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has built a reputation as a movie lover’s oasis not only by combining food and drink service with the movie-going experience, but also introducing unique programming. When asked about his motivation in opening a movie theater in the first place, his response was, "What we set out to do in the very beginning was to make a movie theater, by fans, for fans. We got into the business because we love movies and we got a little frustrated with our options as to what the movie theater experience was all about." Mr. League will share how passion for what you do and a focus on customer experience are the keys to success in today’s competitive business environment.
Business at the Bloom is sponsored by Valley Health, and presented by Top of Virginia Regional Chamber.
