Foods Firefighters' Reception and awards presentation
The Firefighters’ Reception and Awards combines two happenings which were previously held on different nights. This year these popular events have been merged to make the combined affair even bigger and better.
The Firefighters’ Reception and Awards honors firefighters and emergency medical personnel and provides awards to units participating in the Firefighters’ Parade. It will be held on the same night as the parade, Friday, May 3, at the Millwood Station's Banquet Hall on Costello Drive, which is owned by the Millwood Station Fire and Rescue Company of Frederick County.
The event is free thanks to outstanding sponsors and is open to the public. The doors open at 6:30 p.m., and awards will be given following the conclusion of the Firefighters’ Parade. The Festival and its volunteers applaud all firefighters and emergency medical personnel who help to make our communities safer places to live.
The scope of the evening will be to recognize the firefighters and present the Firefighters’ Parade awards. At this free event the fire and rescue family and community (open to the public) will have an opportunity to gather and applaud their efforts. Hopefully the Firefighters’ Grand Marshal will be in town to congratulate and present some of the awards. Stay tuned as this event takes on a new evening to celebrate and applaud the fire and rescue family.
