Rugs Direct/92.5 WINC FM - Nightfest Concert & Fireworks Display

NIGHTFEST:

The Nightfest is the term for the activities that take place on the front of the Handley High School campus prior to the Fireworks Display. People will actually begin spreading blankets on the ground at 2pm on Friday afternoon, May 2nd, in anticipation of the Fireworks Display which will take place at approximately 9:15pm. As the crowd gathers during the afternoon and evening, vendors will offer various food items in the mini-Midway, as well as glow-sticks, glow-in-the dark necklaces and other souvenirs.

The Little Smilin’ Choo Choo will be there giving rides, as well as inflatable bouncy rides for the kids. 92.5 WINC FM will be present with prizes and games. Recorded music will be played concert-style for the crowd. The open-air-concert, carnival-style atmosphere will continue until pitch-dark, at which time the lights will go off and the fireworks will begin.

FIREWORKS:

The Fireworks Display will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Friday, May 2nd, on the front of the Handley High School campus, following the Firefighters’ Parade. While always a major sponsor of the event, much of the actual direction of the production will be taken back over by RugsDirect this year after a two year absence. The RugsDirect shows from 1999-2005 were spectacular shows the like of which is rarely seen beyond the Washington, D.C. Mall. The 2008 show should be a return to the “glory days” of Festival Fireworks Displays!
