Daily
Grind JazzFest
Rob Zappulla is known as “the man keeping the spirit of the Big
Band alive.” Since 2001, Rob has been the vocalist with the Tommy
Dorsey Orchestra, appearing everywhere around the world and nearest to
us - the 2005 Inaugural Ball. (Think Frank Sinatra!) Check out JazzFest’s
featured headliner at robzappulla.com for just a taste of his mellow
sound!
Zappulla will appear with the Shenandoah
Jazz Ensemble, directed by Bryan Kidd. SU’s Jazz Ensemble is noted across the country for
its repertoire and excellence! Along with Rob and the SU Jazz Ensemble,
the DAILY GRIND JAZZFEST will include – back by popular demand – the
area’s own Louberta Weatherton singing jazz and blues accompanied
by Bernadine Rollins, noted area pianist. Completing the guest list are
the award-winning jazz ensembles from Handley and Sherando high schools.
A pre-show surprise act will begin at 12:30 when the doors to the DAILY
GRIND JAZZFEST open at the Rock Harbor Tent.
DAILY GRIND’s JAZZFEST is a great way to
round out your “bloom
experience” – from 1 p.m. till
4 p.m. on Sunday, May 4. Come
dance, come listen, or just come snap your fingers!
