I am a member of MADD, Drawing the Line, and Virginia College Parents, Inc,; I was selected to become a member of the Virginia College Parents, Inc. Advisory Board, which is composed of legislators, law enforcement, alcohol abuse practitioners, and students. I have been a guest speaker at several local high school’s “Every 15 Minutes” assembly programs, as well as seminars to educate students and parents of the dangers surrounding alcohol use during beach week, prom, and graduation. I have been invited to ride-along with Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Agents during underage sting operations to determine which stores are supplying alcohol to minors. I hope to continue to work with these organizations on a local, statewide, and national level in order to fight the battle against underage drinking.
