Princesses For Pets

When I was just 5 years old, I started my own platform called Princesses For Pets. I and other area "princesses" collect and distribute pet care items to various shelters and rescue organizations. Whether it's food, beds, blankets, or toys, all of these items are needed to help animals be a little bit happier while they're waiting for a new home. I also serve as the captain of my own team each year for a local SPCA walkathon. Another organization I helped was Meals on Wheels For Pets. My family and friends collected food to be given to the pets of people receiving Meals on Wheels services.

Through my platform, I've had the opportunity to be interviewed live twice on the morning news program Virginia This Morning. I was able to reach many people across the state and encourage them to help homeless animals. This past summer, I was recognized for my efforts with my platform by being selected as the 2011 Fourpoints Magazine Precious Princess contest winner. Fourpoints is a magazine dedicated to the Miss America program, it's contestants, and volunteers. I was so honored to have been chosen to represent girls across the country, and very fortunate to spread my message on a national level.

I hope that the article written about me inspired people all over America to help our furry friends. As Miss Apple Blossom's Outstanding Pre-Teen, I would continue my hard work and dedication and bring Princesses For Pets to the land of pink and green! I can't think of a better way to promote my platform than by being a part of one of the biggest and well known festivals on the East Coast and I hope you'll give me the opportunity to proudly serve this community.
