Apple Blossom Festival
Square Dance
The Apple Blossom Festival Square Dance will be held Saturday, May 5th at the Virginia Avenue Charlotte DeHart Elementary School. The dancing starts with pre-rounds at 7:00 p.m. and 2 x 2’s from 8:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.
This historic dance attracts dancers from MD, PA, WV, and the Washington DC area. Nearby state conventions and festivals send representatives to join in the fun and also promote their events. The Capitol Squares, the Washington DC Square Dance Exhibition Team, have also performed at the Pennzoil Apple Blossom Square Dance.
For many years it has been a tradition that the Apple Blossom Queen and her court will make an appearance. They join the dancers on the floor with specially choreographed calls designed for new dancers. They always have a grand time. Come on out and enjoy the healthy family pastime that has been defined as “Friendship set to Music”.
