Watts Financial Group:
Volunteer's wrap up party
Volunteers ~ The Heart of the Bloom. Being a volunteer with the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival® is a special community experience. Volunteers make new friends, share their expertise, and participate in making Festival history – a history that now is 84 years old. Indeed, the nearly 2000 volunteers are the heart of an organization that numbers over 40 events during the weeklong celebration.
Along with an office staff of four professionals, the volunteers for each of the events work all year long to prepare for the Bloom. Come be part of the lifeblood of one of the top Fe stivals in the United States! Do you like to organize? Are you creative? Have mechanical experience? Good with crowds? Whatever your talent, think about sharing it with the Festival.
Wondering how to get involved? Each Fall (usually early November), the Festival holds a VOLUNTEER FAIR at which you can learn about the events and talk with other event volunteers. All interested community members are invited to come to this “open house” to help you find your niche with the “Bloom.” [Watch thebloom.com website and the local media for announcements of the 2011 Fair or contact the Festival office]
And after the Festival is over, all volunteers – yes, all 2000 of them and their families – are invited to gather at the WRAP-UP PARTY the Monday after the Bloom at the Sprint Tent on the Winchester Medical Center grounds. Here volunteers share fun, food, door prizes, and a last bit of congratulations on another successful Bloom. This family event is a thank you to the volunteers for all their hard work, their talent, and their love of community.
Consider joining the Festival family. There’s a place for you! For more information on becoming a volunteer call (540) 662-3863.
