ALLOWED BAGS

  • Clear bags up to 14” x 9”
  • 1-gallon plastic clear storage bag


NOT ALLOWED BAGS

  • Purses
  • Backpacks
  • Fanny packs
  • Cinch bags
  • Luggage of any kind
  • Computer bags
  • Camera Bags
  • Any bag larger than permissible size


PROHIBITED ITEMS

  • Backpacks or Bags larger than 14”x9”.
  • Alcohol.
  • Weapons, knives, of any kind.
  • Any items that could be used or construed to be a weapon.
  • Illegal Drugs.
  • Bottles, cans, thermoses, coolers.
  • Animals (except for service).
  • Aerosol/spray cans.
  • Food, snacks, beverages.
  • Noisemakers.


Clear Bag Policy – FAQs

Why has the Festival adopted a clear bag policy?

The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival® works closely with local law enforcement and public safety officials to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. As part of these efforts, the Festival has adopted a Clear Bag Policy—recognized as a national best practice—to enhance security, improve efficiency, and ensure a smooth entry process at all events.


How does this policy improve safety?

Clear bags can be inspected quickly and effectively, reducing the need for extensive bag checks and minimizing wait times. The policy also supports public safety initiatives such as the Department of Homeland Security’s “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign, helping everyone play a part in maintaining a safe event environment.


Can I still carry small personal items?

Yes! Items such as phones or small accessories can be carried in your hands or pockets. 


Can I bring a blanket or jacket?

Yes.  Jackets may be carried over your arm and do not need to be placed in a clear bag.


What if I bring a bag that doesn’t meet the policy?

Please note that only approved bags are permitted. Guests with non-approved bags will need to return them to their vehicle.  Bags may not be left at the security checkpoint entrance.  Thank you for planning ahead!


Are small clutches allowed?

Only clear clutch bags will be allowed. 


What about diaper bags?

Diapers bags are an exception.


What if I need to bring medical equipment or supplies?

Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at entry. We encourage guests with medical needs to notify security staff upon arrival for a smooth entry process.
