Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival® Announces Mark Nantz, President and CEO of Valley Health, as Featured Speaker for Business at the Bloom
The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival® is pleased to announce Mark Nantz, President and Chief Executive Officer of Valley Health, as the featured the speaker for the Business at the Bloom luncheon on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
Nantz leads Valley Health, a not-for-profit network of hospitals, outpatient services, and physician practices headquartered in Winchester, Virginia. He is widely recognized for his commitment to employee engagement, organizational growth, and delivering high-quality patient care across the region. Additionally, Nantz currently serves as Chair of the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA) Board, helping guide statewide healthcare leadership and advocacy.
During his tenure at Valley Health, Nantz has championed a people-first culture that has significantly improved employee engagement and retention. This emphasis has contributed to corresponding gains in patient satisfaction, quality outcomes, and safety performance. Under his leadership, Valley Health has earned numerous accolades, including America’s Best-in-State Employers 2025 by Forbes and America’s Greatest Workplaces in Healthcare 2025 by Newsweek. Valley Health has also received recognition from chambers of commerce throughout the communities it serves.
Prior to joining Valley Health, Nantz held several executive leadership roles with Bon Secours Mercy Health, including Chief Administrative Officer and Atlantic Group President. He also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Bon Secours and held executive roles at Carolinas Healthcare System (now Advocate Health). Earlier in his career, he worked in the audit practice of KPMG Peat Marwick and is a former Certified Public Accountant.
Nantz earned a Master of Health Administration from Pfieffer University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Carolina–Charlotte. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
An active community leader, Nantz has volunteered with numerous nonprofit and civic organizations, including the Winchester Rescue Mission, chambers of commerce, the American Heart Association, the March of Dimes, and organizations supporting the fine arts. He and his wife, Courtenay, reside in Winchester, Virginia.
The Valley Health Business at the Bloom presented by Top of Virginia Regional Chamber will take place in the Tolley Dental Zone at the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center on the campus of Shenandoah University on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
