Festival Announces Selection of Princesses

The selection of Princesses to serve in the Court of Queen Shenandoah XCIX for the 2026 Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival® has been announced by festival officials. The princesses include Yiannah Lee Kats, Olivia Rosalina Pacheco, Emma LaNae Thompson, Ella Marie Turner, and Emmanuelle Hope Vanscoy.

Yiannah Lee Kats

Yiannah Lee Kats is the daughter of Shelly and Yevgeny Kats of Winchester, VA. She is the granddaughter of John Wood of Knoxville, TN, and the late Bonnie Judy, Anna Kats, and Naum Kats. Yiannah is a President’s List senior representing Randolph-Macon Academy. She is a four-year varsity tennis letter recipient and served as team captain. She was named 2023 and 2024 tennis VIP and received the 2023 coach’s award. She is a member and serves as president of the Honor Council, Science Honor Society, and the Entrepreneurship Club (2024-25) and is a member of the cheer team. She is a Regimental S-1 officer and a member of the Apple Blossom Saber Detail for 2025 and 2024, serving as commander for 2024. Yiannah is a recipient of the Clutch Award, named to the Greater Piedmont Athletic Conference (GPAC) 1st team all-conference in 2024 and 2026. She has been a violin player with Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy (SCAA) for the past nine years. Her mother, Shelly, served as a princess in the court of Queen Shenandoah LXVII, Lisa Huber. 

Olivia Rosalina Pacheco

Olivia Rosalina Pacheco is the daughter of Robin and Adan Pacheco of Manassas, VA. She is the granddaughter of Terri and Lester Morris of Fairview Park, OH, Maria Lina Pacheco of Davenport, FL, and the late Felix Pacheco. Olivia is a freshman at Northern Virginia Community College with future plans to transfer to a four-year institution. She is pursuing a double major in political science and dance and is a competitive dancer. Olivia is an ambassador for the American Heart Association and an ambassador for the Movement Collective. Olivia holds the title of Miss Apple Blossom’s Teen 2025. 

Emma LaNae Thompson

Emma LaNae Thompson is the daughter of Holly Thompson of Middletown, VA. She is the granddaughter of Sharon and Tommy Thompson and the niece of Heather and Jason Walther, all of Middletown. She is a senior representing Shenandoah University (SU), majoring in business administration with a double concentration in marketing and management. Emma is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society, and Omicron Delta Kappa Collegiate Honor Society, serving as treasurer. She serves as director of finance for the SU Student Government Association (SGA) and is a President’s List recipient. She is a work study student for the civic engagement department at Shenandoah, where she assists with community outreach, Buzzy’s food pantry, and volunteers at the SPCA. Emma is a 2022 graduate of Sherando High School. 

Ella Marie Turner

Ella Marie Turner is the daughter of Anna and Chris Turner of Winchester. She is the granddaughter of Rachel and Allen Eckstine and Cindy and Chris Lombardi, all of Hagerstown, MD, and Bobbi and Gary Turner of Waynesboro, PA. Ella is a sophomore at Shepherd University pursuing a degree in nursing. She is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority honor council. She is a 2024 graduate of Millbrook High School, where she was a member of Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. As a high school student, Ella played softball for three years, was a four year varsity cheerleading letter recipient, and received the coach's award.

Emmanuelle

Emmanuelle "Emmy" Hope Vanscoy is the daughter of Paula and Billy Vanscoy of Winchester. She is the granddaughter of Anita Dick and Susan Vanscoy, both of Winchester, and the late Paul Wendell Dick and William Vanscoy. Emmy is a senior representing Eukarya Christian Academy, where she is involved in theatre, dance, and the worship team. She has also been involved in community theatre throughout high school. Emmy is a volunteer at Crossroads Community Church, where she has done mission work, as well as serving on the production, worship, and social media teams. She is involved with DOVE USA youth and has attended Evangelistic Missions Training for five years. After graduation, Emmy plans to serve in missions while pursuing songwriting for worship and outreach.

The Princesses will accompany Queen Shenandoah XCIX and her Court to all Festival functions throughout the 99th Festival, scheduled for April 24th to May 3rd, 2026. They will participate in the Coronation Ceremony to be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at John Handley High School. They will attend the Queen's Ball and Dance Party, presented by Insurance Center of Winchester, to celebrate the coronation of Queen Shenandoah XCIX, to be held Friday, May 1st, beginning at 8:30 pm at the Winchester Country Club. They will ride on the Royal Float in the Glo Fiber Grand Feature Parade scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2026.
